About

Judo.J.Barr

Judo Barr was born in Orange NSW Australia and lived in a musical family. His father played Lap Steel, Acoustic Guitar Piano Accordion and Harmonica. All of Judo’s Uncles also played instruments and once a month there would be a gathering of the family at some-one’s house for a big Country Music bash.
Then Judo was schooled in the Pop Music era in the 60’s then in the 70’s he discovered the Blues and Rock and was hooked from then on. His style ranges from Blues to Pop to Rock and Country Rock and everything in between. Over the past 55 years he has played in Cabaret Rock bands, 3 and 4 piece Blues and Rock bands, even a L0 piece Big Band and for the last 30 years has played his own one man band show with his home studio made backing of Drums, Guitars, Keyboards, Bass and Backing Vocals. He was a one man six-man band.
When you listen to him you will hear the influences of Bernie Taupin, Eric Clapton, Billy F Gibbons, Ritchie Blackmore, Foo Fighters, Robin Trower, David Gilmore, The Who and many others yet his music is totally original.

Judo’s subject matter ranges from happy/sad, good/bad, war/peace, homelessness, love/hate, politics and a bit of comedy as well. He is a skilled wordsmith and musician, and his music will evoke feelings in all who listen.
